Digital Vs. Print

Advantages of Print:
  1. Lower initial Cost than Digital
  2. Better at capturing detail in black and white
  3. Film is higher resolution
  4. More forgiving of minor focusing issues
  5. More forgiving of exposure problems
Disadvantages of Print:
  1. Cameras are generally heavier
  2. Film can take up lots of space
  3. Film is a continuing cost
  4. The pictures must be developed before being viewed
  5. Unless you have a darkroom, you have to rely on the lab to edit your pictures
Advantages of Digital:
  1. Cameras are generally lighter
  2. Memory cards can store more images than a dozen rolls of film
  3. Memory cards are small
  4. Pictures can be viewed immediately
  5. Pictures can be edited
Disadvantages of Digital:
  1. Higher initial cost
  2. Can easily lose detail in black and white
  3. Potential equipment failures
  4. Need for a computer literacy
  5. Low-light performance
